The GMAT Focus Edition

Your complete guide to the Graduate Management Admission Test

GMAT Focus Edition

What Is the GMAT?

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is the most widely accepted standardized exam for business school admissions worldwide. In November 2023, the GMAT was replaced by the GMAT Focus Edition, a shorter, more streamlined exam that better reflects the skills MBA programs value most.

The GMAT Focus Edition consists of three sections — Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Data Insights — totaling 64 questions over 2 hours and 15 minutes. Notable changes from the original GMAT include the removal of the Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA), the elimination of Sentence Correction from the Verbal section, and the introduction of the Data Insights section.

Scores range from 205 to 805 in 10-point increments, with individual section scores ranging from 60 to 90. The exam is computer-adaptive within each section, and test-takers can choose their preferred section order.
